Arborescent – A new hat knitting pattern

One day late, but here it is, my first pattern for September hats….

Arborescent hat

I loved designing and making this hat, knit in Cascade 220 a worsted weight yarn it knitted up quickly and it is fun watching the trees ‘grow’ as you knit. This is a very stretchy hat so will fit a wide range of adult sized heads, from 20 – 24″.  It is knit from the bottom up, in the round, all in one piece; the trees are achieved with the clever use of slipped stitches and cables so that you are only ever working with one yarn at a time.

This is a written pattern with no charts and the pattern includes comprehensive notes on all of the techniques used.

You’ll need 120yds of main colour and 70yds of contrast colour, and if you like it you can purchase the pattern here
