Owls Retreat Shawl

Back in September I wrote about a new project that I got over-excited about and bought the yarn for on a whim. Well this is what that whim turned in to.

This is Owls Retreat my newest shawl pattern.

Its knit in 4ply / fingering weight yarn, the sample is in Cascade 220 fingering shades brown, ginger and beige.

The little owls all the way along the bottom of the shawl are created with a combination of slipped stitches and cables, so you are only ever working with one yarn at a time.

This shawl is knit from the bottom up, it is shaped with simple (no wraps) short rows and I promise you it is not a complicated knit. The pattern includes very comprehensive notes on all of the techniques used including how to add beads with a crochet hook and how to do an icord bind-off.

I’d love to know what you think and if you’d like to purchase the pattern you can do so here.
